  • Michael J. Engle, Esquire is a Philadelphia based lawyer who concentrates his practice in the area of state and federal criminal defense as well as civil litigation matters. Mr. Engle’s criminal practice has included cases ranging from simple traffic court matters to complex white-collar prosecutions. Mr. Engle has handled numerous cases in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and his practice includes the representation of individuals, professionals, public officials, as well as corporate clients.

    Mr. Engle is a graduate of Villanova University, summa cum laude, and the George Washington University Law School. Recently, Mr. Engle has served as the President of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PACDL). Mr. Engle is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel for the Federal District Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania as well as the Federal Bar Association, Criminal Law Committee. Mr. Engle is a Fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers and has also served as a member of the University of Pennsylvania Law School American Inn of Court.

    Mr. Engle is a former adjunct professor in the criminal justice department of Delaware County Community College, where he taught classes on criminal law, criminal procedure and juvenile delinquency. Mr. Engle is a published author of three academic articles in the fields of sociology and criminology, and he is also a frequent lecturer at Villanova University where he discusses the topic of serial murder in the Social Psychiatry class of Dr. Bernard J. Gallagher, III..
